More about Huni Kuin Cacau Rapé
This very strong Huni Kuin Cacau Rapé is blended with the ashes of the native Amazonian cacao tree. This beautiful recipe is from the Huni Kuin tradition. Rapé with cacao ashes is usually a medicine with a more reddish color. This particular one is extra strong, it is a medicine that contains less ashes and more tobacco. This Hapé has a deep earthy and grounding character. It has a mixture of tobaccos. The types used are Sabia and Moi. For the biggest part the extra strong Sabia tobacco and a smaller part of the native Moi tobacco. The Moi variety of Nicotiana Rustica is more gentle in strength but has a delicious flavour and a very harmonising energy.
Theobroma cacao
Theobroma cacao is the scientific name of the cacao tree. In Portuguese the name is cacau.The name of the genus comes from Greek, and means food of the gods. Theobromine is an alkaloid present in cacao and is known as a vasodilator, diuretic and heart stimulant. The word Cacoa comes from an adaptation of Nahuatl (Aztecan) cacaua. It is the root form of cacahuatl which means as. much as “bean of the cocoa-tree.”
Cocoa is native to the Amazon basin from where it spread to other parts of the Americas and from there around the world. The tribes that make use these ashes burn them from the native trees that grow wild by the riversides in the jungle. 100% original Amazonian.
Huni Kuin Cacau Rapé
Mainly the Huni Kuin, but also other tribes, have used the bark and wood from this native cacao or cacau variety to burn ashes for their Rapé Snuff. They are small trees with thin trunks and as such is a hard to produce ash not easy to come by in its original form.
Although Cacau used in ceremonies opens the heart. This Rapé works on the heart but is also very grounding and strengthens the root chakra keeping your feet firmly connected to the earth., An open heart connected to planet earth!
