More about Palo Santo Essential Oil

Our Palo Santo essential oil (Bursera Graveolens) is a natural compound with a warm, woody, peculiar and characteristic aroma. It possesses a unique refreshing, sweet and encouraging scent, which reminds of a mixture of pinecone, mint, and lemon. What is Palo Santo Essential Oil

Our Palo Santo essential oil is distilled directly from nature, using branches and trunks that fall naturally without intentional cultivation. They have been curing for the necessary rest period on the forest floor.

This sacred wood was widely used by shamans and Incas in religious and mystical rituals, with the aim of bringing good luck and warding off negative energies.
According to the traditions of the natives who use Palo Santo, this powerful aroma can promote a great feeling of peace, union, and balance, bringing reflection to more conscious attitudes. If you find it difficult to be more creative or focused, don’t worry! Palo Santo is also indicated to help with this type of problem. It greatly stimulates relaxation, reduces daily stress, and facilitates attention in long journeys of mental work.
Palo Santo essential oil is believed to be an anti-inflammatory, anti-congestive and a powerful antibiotic to help treat respiratory problems. It supports the immune system in cases of colds and flu.

Bursera Graveolens Tree

There are numerous different species of trees called Palo Santo, which its name is associated with “Sacred Wood”, but the best-known species is Bursera Graveolens, found in Peru, Ecuador, Bolivia, and Brazil (Mato Grosso). This tree needs to fall naturally, and for all its therapeutic benefits to be exploited, it must be left curing on the forest floor for 6 to 10 years. If this wood is harvested before 4 years, the molecular composition will not be concentrated enough to manifest the fragrant healing aroma.

Despite being a great essential oil, its use is not recommended during pregnancy. Don’t forget to consult your doctor or aromatherapist for medicinal treatment!
